I put a poll out on my newsletter about which links and items you’d like, and these were the biggest requests! If you have any other things that you are curious about, please let me know. And since these are mostly non-affiliate, if you buy something for this list, please consider buying a copy of my cookbook along with it as a “thanks for the recommendations,” or just because the book is filled with recipes that are delicious 😉
This is a living and evolving list, so please check back if you are looking for something, and know that links and recommendations are subject to change (like me!)
Speckled Plateware – I’ve shopped from Earthen Shop since 2021. It’s a small, women-owned pottery shop in San Francisco, and while it’s pricey, I can’t recommend them enough. The bowls are light, microwave-safe and very scratch proof (believe me, I’ve put them through it!).
Cutting Board – I used to heavily use this butcher block from IKEA, but I’ve recently switched to The Angled Board (in walnut) from Material Kitchen. I highly recommend both!
Favorite Chef’s Knife – There are lots of knives out there that are very *chef-y*, but if you are looking for more of a knife to host your dinner parties and less of a knife for an episode of The Bear, I recommend this one. It fits my hand shape and size perfectly, and still is razor sharp.
Pasta Bowls – Anthropologie has great plateware, period. But these pasta bowls (blates? I guess?) are fantastic for plating. The white ones make any food look fantastic.
Big A** Salad Bowls – I once heard someone say we weren’t eating enough salads because we didn’t have the right big a** salad bowls. I couldn’t agree more. These are great for piling high with any leafy greens. (PS, good for salads, NOT GOOD FOR CEREAL. This is important.)
Hot Plate – You know her, you love her. This hot plate is super safe, gets enough power to deep-fry something, and it’s only downside is a light motor noise. Otherwise, I love her.
The Best Mandolin – When it comes to mandolins, start small and then upgrade to big if you find you like to use them a lot. Some people try out mandolins and realize they’d rather just thinly slice things. For me, this small one serves me just fine. And it has a grip attachment, so it’s super safe.
The Best Microplane – I could write love songs to this microplane. I use it for garlic, ginger, grating parmesan, grating walnuts (it’s a thing!), and zesting citrus. It’s simple, but such a good kitchen investment.
Salad Spinner – You gotta get a salad spinner. It will increase your greens intake tenfold. And we love greens! Keep this in a place that’s easy to reach and it will make cleaning your farmers’ market finds so much easier.
Olive Oil Pourer – This beauty is from Sprezz! It’s durable, cute, and easy to refill.
Frying Pan – I’ve dabbled in a few stainless steel pans, but this is still the one that can’t be beat. I like a 12-inch, but smaller will do just fine as well!
My Cooking Tweezers – These have really changed the game. I use them to flip tofu (or really anything) in a pan, swirl up pasta, and plate hard-to-handle food items.
Cast Iron Pan – Lodge forever and always has my heart. Don’t let any pretentious cast iron experts shame you for loving Lodge. They don’t have your best interests at heart. I do.
Great Jones Baking Sheets – These are green and very cute, but be warned, the green will wear off after a while! I still keep them because I love them, and a few scratches doesn’t bother me.
East Fork Pottery – I love a lot of pottery, but I do love my East Fork! My favorite colors by far are Panna Cotta, Morel, and Nightshade (if they still have it!). The best items I’ve ever bought from East Fork are these bowls and these mugs.
Tiny Staub (a Coquette!) – These are so great for storing salt, storing flour (especially if you knead bread a lot), or for baking single-serve eggs. They are tiny but mighty! And super cute to have on your counter.
Piglet in Bed Table Placemats – You all asked about outdoor dining, and while I don’t have favorite plate sets just yet, I recently got this table runner, these embroidered napkins and these napkins, and I’m obsessed.
Immersion Blender – I’m not too passionate about immersion blenders because I’d rather just pull out a regular blender. BUT if you are going big, go big. This one is pretty industrial, but it will get you the best results. This isn’t an area you want to skimp on.
Food Processor – I swear by this KitchenAid 5-cup food processor. It’s small enough so cleaning it isn’t a hassle, and the key to actually using your food processor is making sure it isn’t a hassle.
The Best Glasses (and pretty affordable, too!) – Let me turn you onto the greatest cups of all time. First: The Marta Glass, I love it for water, wine, cocktails, really anything. Second. The Neat Glass, which is what you’ll see in most of my videos, it’s gorgeous. Last, the Viski Nick and Nora glasses, they are just too pretty and I want to use them all the time, although they are probably meant just for martinis. I think I still have the code SNACKS with Viski, just FYI.
