Warm garlic cloves fresh from the oven should be a controlled substance.
I can devour an entire tray, even when I eat them alongside something like this delicious pasta bolognese. I made the dough from scratch here, but you could easily use store-bought pizza dough for somewhat instant results.
Why garlic knots?
Garlic knots are the best part of pizza night! I love them soft and tender on the inside, crispy on the edges of the knuckles dripping with garlic butter. Pure carb perfection. I like them with sauce, without sauce, I even eat them cold. I’m a garlic knot monster!
How to make garlic knots
First, I mean, you don’t have to make the dough from scratch. You can buy pizza dough and make these and still experience the immense joy that homemade garlic knots will give you.
- Make the dough. Or buy it. no one judges. If you do, put all the ingredients in a mixer until everything comes together in a ball. Once the dough is a ball, cover it and let the dough rest until doubled in size.
- Form the knots. When your dough is nice and puffy, you punch it and shape the knots. Push the dough into a log and cut into 8 strips. Twist the strips a bit and then tie the dough into a knot. Cover the knots with a plastic blanket and let them nap until fluffy.
- Bake the joints. Brush the joints with garlic butter, then bake until golden and delicious.
- Give the joints a butter bath. Double dip the knuckles for even more garlic flavor. Wash them with parmesan and parsley.
- Enjoy!
Why you should make a home
If you’re wondering why you go to all this work:

Air fryer garlic cloves
If you’re looking at this post and thinking, “That’s great and all, but can I use the air blower?” the answer is yes! All the joints in the picture are made in an air blower.
Prepare garlic knots as directed, preheat air fryer to 400°F for 5 minutes, then air fry for 10-12 minutes at 350°F, or until golden. Give them a dip in extra butter when they come out.
